TAIWAN
ARC acquired its first dialysis
facility in Taiwan in Oct. 1997. In the
following ten years, ARC’s operations
have grown to become one of the leading
dialysis providers treating about 2,300
patients through our network of 32 dialysis
clinics strategically located throughout
the country. In the process, ARC has also
developed a comprehensive management infrastructure
to support the day-to-day operations of
the network as well as business development
activities.
PHILIPPINES
In Nov. 1997, ARC established
a joint venture with one of the leading
conglomerates in the Philippines; the Ayala
Corporation. The venture built its first
clinic in the same year and today, treats
about 870 patients in 10 dialysis clinics
located in the capital city of Manila as
well the commercial hub of Central Philippines,
Cebu.
SINGAPORE
ARC acquired a controlling interest
in Renalcare Holding of Singapore in Nov.
1998. From six clinics at the time of acquisition,
ARC has expanded its operations to become
the dominant private dialysis provider in
the country treating about 850 patients
at its 18 clinics located throughout the
island. ARC’s successes in Singapore
reached a new milestone in 2007 when the
Company formed a joint venture with the
Singapore General Hospital and its parent,
Singhealth to develop and operate a chronic
dialysis facility within the hospital compound.
JAPAN
ARC provides supporting and administrative
services to 2 clinics in Japan, treating
about 180 patients. The Company is seeking
further collaboration opportunities in the
country so that it will well positioned
to capitalize on the immense potential of
any possible deregulation of the medical
services industry in the future.
MALAYSIA
ARC started its operations in
Malaysia in Nov. 2003 when the Company formed
a joint venture in Penang with a local nehprologist
consisting of 3 dialysis clinics. In 2006,
ARC formed a joint venture in the capital
city, Kuala Lumpur with one of Malaysia’s
leading nephrologists which also consists
of 3 dialysis clinics. Currently, the Company
operates these 6 clinics in Malaysia treating
more than 350 patients. In 2007, the Company
also established its local management infrastructure
to support its current operations as well
as explore new collaboration opportunities.
KOREA
In Mar. 2004,
ARC entered into Korea by forming a joint
venture with a Seoul-based nephrologist
, which presently operates 5 dialysis clinics.
After several years of expansion, ARC today
operates in total 10 clinics treating more
than 700 patients across the Korean Peninsula.
A major highlight of ARC’s success
was the establishment of its very own Medical
Foundation as well as a hospital in the
city of Suncheon in Nov. 2007.
